Contest Rules

We have made every effort to make this unique global hair contest available to everyone in every country, so it is very important to review and follow these rules carefully to ensure your participation is a success.

Every aspect of this hair contest including registration and photo submission process can be done online, but for your convenience, we have also prepared a downloadable version of the contest rules, a photo release form, and a checklist of everything you need to submit by postal mail.

1- Entry Rules

All applicants in the Style Stars Global Hair Contest must first be a qualified/licensed cosmetologist, hairdresser or hairstylist on the day that their entry form is submitted. There is no age limitation for contestant.

Contestants must register online. Contestants will be notified upon receipt of registration form and payment. The deadline is final: No entries will be accepted after the closing date .

Payment must be made in full at the time you register. This can be done online by credit card through PayPal or in the mail by check or money order.

Each entry will receive a unique contestant number. This number will be send to you by e-mail and must be included on your entry form along with your submitted photos and will be used for judging process.

A competitor can enter more than once but a separate entry form and payment must be made for each entry.

2- Photo Submission Requirements

With First time Registration you MUST Send a photo of yourself along with a short bio.

(Optional): Send two snapshots of your salon or the salon where you are currently working: one exterior photo showing the front of the salon and one interior shot.

With Each ENTRY FORM You must send a total of 6 photos of your hair model...

Three "before" photos (front, back and side view):

And three "after" photos (front, back and side view):

As an optional choice, you may also send one full-length view of the model showing the overall look. (highly recommended)

All photos must be color portraits, and each photo may contain only one headshot - no more than one model per photo per entry. Images may not be more than 12 months old.

3- Images

Professional photographs are not necessary for entry to the contest. However, for creating the best possible photos, we highly recommend using a professional photographer.(Optional)

Copy of images may be submitted as lower resolution (Min 72 DPI and Max. 600 KB in size each) to this site using our upload facility available from within your account.

Or you may place them as high resolution (300 DPI) on a CD-ROM and send it to the Style Stars Office. (Remember to include/write your Entry Number on CD Cover)

We no longer accept paper printed images. All images must be in digital format.

NOTE: As the Grand Prize Winner, you must be able to provide us with all submitted Images in High Resolution (Min. 300 DPI).

4- Styling Guidelines

Model hair length can be short, medium, or long.

Hair color is recommended to accent the style; the manufacturer, color, and formula used must be included in your entry form.

Makeup is allowed and must accent the style. Hair extensions are acceptable. However, Wigs are not allowed!!

Ornaments and hair accessories are acceptable, however, be sure the actual hair style can be clearly seen.


5- Judging

There will be 10 finalists and 1 grand prize winner.

Judges will only know competitors by their assigned numbers as marked beside each submitted photographs.

Judges will take the following into consideration:

Overall style and creative approach
Harmony between cut, style and color

There are no separate points for color or makeup, but rather, how the whole look created and comes together. (i.e. Does the hairstyle go with the makeup and accessories?, Is it balanced?).

6- Important Dates and Regulations

Entry Deadline for Hair Contest is September 1, 2010


All finalists' names and photos will be announced publicly on our website.

Finalists and the grand prize winner will be announced October 1, 2010.
